I was working on annual mileage calculations and decided to take a moment to count how many states my car has been to since I bought it 20 months ago. Turns out in that time it’s touched tire to 31 states. Not bad. How about your car? Let’s keep it to current daily only, no going through all the cars you’ve owned/driven.
EDIT: I meant where has it been since you bought it, not factoring in its life before you

For sure, it’s been to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania before I owned it, and Virginia and North Carolina under my ownership.

My car is somewhere around 900 miles from 300,000 miles... Only 60-70k are mine. I have no idea but I imagine it is quite a few.

My current car would have a pretty short list, at least since I’ve owned it. I’m not sure I’ve been outside of NH, VT, ME, MA in my car in its two years.
For the car I had in college, I counted 31 - same as you - but over 3 years.

All New England states, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, and DC. So, 12 plus DC. Four were just over a month ago when we went to GRC in DC.

made in japan, likely hit some US port city, then New York. I shipped it from New York so a few states in between. Then life in Colorado.
I road trip in boring cars, so I doubt it’ll ever see anywhere else :D

The cruiser has seen a lot of miles in the 3 years I’ve owned it, but not many states.
Idaho
Utah
Colorado
Nevada
Arizona
Montana
at 13 mpg its not what you call a roadtrip car. That being said, I have put ~60,000 miles on it in 3 years. I would bet about 5000-7000 of those have been off pavement too.
I do know it was originally a Georgia car and I bought it in Washington. Based on the mileage when I bought it, and the fact that it was a career military man I bought it from, I would venture to say its seen a state or two.

I only have 10 states, one federal district, and one Canadian province under my belt since March 2014.
NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, PA, OH, IN, IL, WI, Washington DC, and Quebec. I’m looking to add the Carolinas, New England and Ontario this year.
Did you do a cross country road trip?

How did you make one of those fancy maps? Since buying my Miata in November 2014, I have driven it to many states as well as a foreign country from my home state of NJ. The full list includes (from south to north): Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Ontario (Canada). Also worth noting that my car has traveled via boat to Shelter Island (NY) and I nearly went to Martha's Vineyard (MA) with the car but I went over on foot instead. September 2017 I am planning to move to California with my Miata so I will be adding a few more states during that one-way cross country trip. Still undecided if I really want to go the Northern or Southern routes. Gonna depend on the weather I guess since I am only bringing summer tires with me.

The Netherlands
Germany
Belgium
France
Italy
Switzerland
Austria.
I believe that’s it already.
However, I have driven in all of these countries
in 2016
. Excluding the latter all in a car I own(ed), just not my daily.

The GTO since I have owned has been to Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Who knows where the previous owner had it before.

This shows how poorly traveled I am. In the 10 years I’ve had my truck, I’ve put 114k miles on it without ever traveling more than 400 miles from home. Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan (upper and lower) are the only states it’s ever been to. I need to change that.

My truck has covered a lot of distance, but in a generally small area. It’s been in South Dakota primarily, Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Manitoba.
The 924, since I’ve owned it, around 8 months has been in South Dakota, and Minnesota.
The Sportster, SD, MN, IA.

This counts for all vehicles purchased after I was born (2000) by my parents (‘00 Nissan Sentra, ‘05 Honda CR-V, ‘10 Toyota Camry, ‘14 Toyota Rav4), since I don’t have a car. It’s been in: New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, and Virginia. (11 states)

These are the states we have visited in our 2014 Mustang that we purchased brand new. Bought it for a road trip car, and it has worked well for that. We did Florida to California this spring... literally drove Coast-to-Coast in less than two days (I’m not sayin’ how much less). We will be adding more to this map in the next few months!

Martha’s Vineyard. I don’t take my own car off island much, my mom keeps a car in a lot on the mainland and I usually just steal that when I have to go somewhere.

Please do. Get these maps, https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS… , they are amazing. I borrowed them from my buddy and they helped out a ton. A lot of the road does still have signs on the side you can follow, but there are areas where you have to kinda find your way around.
Either way, god that is an amazing trip and I HIGHLY recommend everyone do it. We went from Detroit to Santa Monica, to Sonoma to West Yellowstone to Mt. Rushmore and back home. Awesome trip.
